**Quick answer — Can I pay for flights with USDC?**

Yes, on Ethereum only. **SatFares**, a flight booking site paid only in crypto, accepts USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20) to pay for flights, credited after 12 confirmations. USDC on Solana, Base, Polygon or Arbitrum is not accepted. Top up from $25; your wallet pays the gas in ETH. At checkout, the fare is held, not charged, until the airline issues the e-ticket.

## Which network must I use to pay for a flight with USDC?

Ethereum, and only Ethereum. Circle lists 38 networks where USDC is supported, including Solana, Base, Polygon PoS and Arbitrum. SatFares checks USDC payments on Ethereum only, so USDC on any other network can't be credited.

If your USDC is on Solana, Base or another network, you have two choices:

1. Move it to Ethereum first, then top up with USDC (ERC-20).
2. Pay with another accepted coin, such as [USDT on Tron](https://satfares.com/pay/usdt-trc20/) or [SOL](https://satfares.com/pay/sol/).

On an exchange, check the network name on the withdrawal screen. The default network shown for USDC is not always Ethereum.

## How much USDC do I send for a $500 booking?

About 500 USDC, plus gas in ETH. The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. So $500 can be the total for one traveller or for several. Example with two travellers at $250 each and an empty balance:

1. The total shown at checkout is $500 for both travellers.
2. You top up $500 in USDC. The payment page asks for about 500 USDC, with a few unique digits at the end.
3. Your wallet adds the Ethereum gas, paid in ETH, on top.
4. After 12 confirmations, your balance shows $500. At checkout, the $500 is held, then charged when the airline issues the e-tickets.

## Why do I need ETH to send USDC?

Because gas on Ethereum is always paid in ETH, also for token transfers. The fee is the gas used multiplied by the base fee plus an optional priority fee, according to ethereum.org. Keep a little ETH in the wallet that holds your USDC. From an exchange, you pay its withdrawal fee instead. Full explanation: [USDT on ERC-20](https://satfares.com/pay/usdt-erc20/).

## What if my token is called USDC but is not the official one?

It will not be credited. Our check looks for a transfer of the official USDC token contract, issued by Circle, on Ethereum. A token with the same name but another contract is a different token, whatever your wallet calls it. Check that your wallet shows USDC from Circle on Ethereum before you send.

## Can I get my refund in USDC?

Yes. If the airline cancels, you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. You choose USDC or USDT; the choice does not depend on the coin you paid with. If you cancel yourself, the fare rules apply and any refund is credited to your balance.

We sell airline tickets paid in crypto. Our offer is included and marked. As of October 12, 2026, Laters refunds crypto payments in CRO, BTC, ETH, USDC or TUSD, and Travala refunds them as Travel Credits. More in the [refund policy matrix](https://satfares.com/refund-policy-matrix/).

## USDC: common questions

### Can I pay for flights with USDC on Solana?

No. SatFares accepts USDC only on Ethereum (ERC-20). USDC on Solana is a different transfer on a different blockchain, and it can't be credited. Move your USDC to Ethereum first, or pay with native SOL, which is accepted with 1 confirmation.

### Can I pay for flights with USDC on Base?

No. Base uses addresses that start with 0x, like Ethereum, so a wallet may let you send to our Ethereum address. The USDC would stay on Base and never reach Ethereum. Funds sent on another network may be lost. Choose Ethereum on the withdrawal screen.

### How many confirmations does a USDC payment need?

Twelve confirmations on Ethereum. The payment page counts them as they arrive, and your balance is credited when the twelfth is reached. The same rule applies to USDT on Ethereum and to ETH. If you close the tab, the pending top-up stays under Billing in your account.

### Is USDC or USDT better for flights?

Neither is better at SatFares: the price and refund options are the same. USDC has one accepted network, Ethereum. USDT has two, Tron and Ethereum. Use the coin you already hold. Comparison: [USDT or USDC for flights](https://satfares.com/usdt-or-usdc-for-flights/). Both are credited in US dollars.

### Can I send USDC to a USDT top-up?

No. Each top-up is checked for its token. USDC sent on a USDT top-up is rejected, even on the same network. Choose USDC when you start the top-up. If you sent the wrong token, contact support with your transaction ID. We can't promise to recover it.

### Does the payment page show the USDC address on this site?

No. The deposit address appears only on the payment page, after you choose USDC. It is never printed on the pages of this site. If you close the tab, the pending top-up stays under Billing in your account, with the address and the exact amount.

### Is the price higher when I pay with USDC?

No. The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged, whichever coin you use. The Ethereum gas is paid by your wallet to the network, not to SatFares. Only the gas amount changes with demand on Ethereum.
