**Quick answer — How much does a flight cost on SatFares?**

**SatFares** is a flight booking site paid only in crypto. The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. Nothing is added at checkout, and that total is **held, not charged**. Our team books the ticket on request; a higher total needs your agreement. You pay when the airline issues the e-ticket number. Top up from $25.

## Is the price shown the total price?

Yes. The price in the search results is the fare found live for your dates. It is the total for all passengers, taxes and airline charges included. It is the same total that is held on your balance at checkout. Our team then confirms the final total before you are charged.

The law requires a full price. In the United States, [14 CFR 399.84](https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/14/399.84) says an advertised air fare must be the entire price to be paid. Taxes may be listed separately, but never more prominently than the total.

For flights from an airport in the European Union, Article 23 of [Regulation (EC) No 1008/2008](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2008/1008/oj) applies. It requires the final price to be shown at all times. It includes the fare and all unavoidable taxes, charges and fees. The Court of Justice ruled in 2015 (case C-573/13, Air Berlin) that this applies from the first display of a price.

## What fee does SatFares charge?

Our fee rule is: none (no booking fee or payment fee is added). The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged.

- No booking fee and no payment fee are added at checkout.
- The total in the search results is the amount held on your balance.
- The same rule is published in machine-readable form in [pricing.json](https://satfares.com/pricing.json).
- If the fee rule changes, this page and pricing.json show the new rule.

If the airline cancels your flight and you ask for a refund, any fee of ours is refunded with the ticket. The full table is on the [refunds page](https://satfares.com/refunds/).

## Who pays the network fee, and how much is it?

The sender pays the network fee to the blockchain, not to SatFares. Your wallet or exchange sets it when you send the top-up. It depends on the coin, the network and how busy the network is. An exchange may also charge its own withdrawal fee.

We don't publish a network fee figure until we have measured it on our own test payments. The measured figures will appear on [the real cost of paying in crypto](https://satfares.com/real-cost-of-paying-in-crypto/). To compare the two stablecoins, read [USDT or USDC for flights](https://satfares.com/usdt-or-usdc-for-flights/).

Send USDT on TRC-20 only to the TRC-20 address shown. Funds sent on another network may be lost.

## How much do I need to top up to book a flight?

The minimum top-up is $25. To book, your balance must cover the full total of the flight for all passengers.

A top-up is credited in USD after the network confirmations. Bitcoin needs 2, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) needs 20, and Ethereum needs 12 (USDT, USDC and ETH). Solana needs 1 and Litecoin needs 6. The steps are below and on [pay by coin and network](https://satfares.com/pay/).

Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. Amounts released when a booking can't be confirmed, or refunded after a cancellation you did not request, can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC; the rest of the balance is not refundable.

## What happens if the price changes before my ticket is issued?

You choose: nothing extra is ever taken without your agreement. Airline fares can change between your search and the booking. Our live search checks the fare again just before we hold your balance.

Bookings are made on request. After checkout, our team books the ticket with the airline and confirms the final total. If it is higher than the amount held, you see the new total. You accept it, or the amount is released to your balance.

Your balance is charged only when the e-ticket number is issued. In the United States, [14 CFR 399.88](https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/14/399.88) forbids a seller to raise the price of a flight after purchase. The only exception is an increase in a government-imposed tax or fee. Even then, the seller must tell you before purchase, and you must agree in writing.

## Is baggage included in the price?

It depends on the fare. On SatFares, baggage and fare rules (changes, refunds) are confirmed with your booking and shown on your e-ticket. Two fares on the same flights can include different baggage allowances.

The airline's baggage rules then apply at the airport, under its Conditions of Carriage.

## How payment works

1. **Top up $25 or more** — Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.
2. **Send it to the address shown, on the exact network** — The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.
3. **Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”** — Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how your payment is found and matched to your account automatically. Nothing else to send us.
4. **Credited after the network confirmations** — Your balance is credited once the network has confirmed the transaction. Usual times:
5. **One balance for all your flights** — Your balance pays your bookings: the amount of a booking is held at checkout and charged only when the booking is confirmed. What is left stays on your balance for your next trip. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. Amounts released when a booking can't be confirmed, or refunded after a cancellation you did not request, can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC; the rest of the balance is not refundable.

| Crypto | Network | Confirmations | Usual time |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Bitcoin | 2 | ≈ 20 min |
| Tether (USDT) | Tron (TRC-20) | 20 | ≈ 1 min |
| Tether (USDT) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| USD Coin (USDC) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Ethereum | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| Solana (SOL) | Solana | 1 | ≈ 1 min |
| Litecoin (LTC) | Litecoin | 6 | ≈ 15 min |

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

## Cancellations and refunds

| Situation | What you get | How | When |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Booking not confirmed (fare gone, time limit passed, our error) | 100% | Released to your balance; withdrawable in USDT or USDC on request | Immediately |
| Price increase declined | 100% | Released to your balance; withdrawable in USDT or USDC on request | Immediately |
| Flight cancelled or heavily changed by the airline (no rebooking accepted) | 100% of the ticket, taxes and options, plus any fee of ours | Your choice: USDT or USDC, or balance credit | Within 7 days of your request |
| You cancel a refundable fare | The amount refunded by the airline, minus its penalty | Balance credit | As soon as the funds come back |
| You cancel a non-refundable fare | Taxes refunded by the airline, if any | Balance credit | As soon as the funds come back |
| No-show | According to the fare rules (often nothing) | Balance credit | — |
| Name error | Corrected if the airline accepts it (its fee at cost); otherwise treated as a cancellation by you | Balance credit | — |

Your legal rights are kept (14 CFR 260.10 in the US, Regulation 261/2004 in the EU): when the airline cancels, a refund as balance credit is only ever your express choice.

## Pricing questions

### Is the price in the search results the final price?

It is the fare found live, and the final total is confirmed before you are charged. At checkout, the total from the results is held on your balance. Our team then books the ticket and confirms the final total. If it is higher, you accept it or the amount is released. Nothing is charged before the e-ticket number is issued.

### Does SatFares add a fee at checkout?

No. Nothing is added at checkout: no booking fee and no payment fee. The total in the search results is the amount held on your balance. Our fee rule is: none (no booking fee or payment fee is added). The only extra cost is the network fee, which you pay to the blockchain when you send your top-up.

### Who pays the network fee?

You pay it to the blockchain network when you send the top-up, not to SatFares. Your wallet or exchange sets the amount. It depends on the coin, the network and network traffic. We publish no fee figure until we have measured it on [the real cost of paying in crypto](https://satfares.com/real-cost-of-paying-in-crypto/).

### Are prices in US dollars?

Yes. Prices and balances are in US dollars (USD). When you top up with Bitcoin, Ether, Solana or Litecoin, the amount is credited in USD after the network confirmations. USDT and USDC are dollar stablecoins, so their USD value moves very little. Paying in crypto may be a taxable event in your country. Check local rules.

### Can the price change after checkout?

Yes, before the ticket is issued, but never without your agreement. Our team confirms the final total after checkout. If it is higher than the amount held, you accept it or the amount is released. In the US, 14 CFR 399.88 forbids raising a flight price after purchase. The only exception is a government tax or fee increase you agreed to in writing.

### What is the minimum top-up?

The minimum top-up is $25. You can send more, and the balance stays on your account for later bookings. To book, the balance must cover the full total of the flight. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. Amounts released when a booking can't be confirmed, or refunded after a cancellation you did not request, can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC; the rest of the balance is not refundable.

### Is baggage included?

It depends on the fare. Baggage and fare rules are confirmed with your booking and shown on your e-ticket. Two fares on the same flights can include different allowances. At the airport, the airline's baggage rules apply, under its Conditions of Carriage.

### Is your fee refunded if the airline cancels my flight?

Yes. This applies if the airline cancels or heavily changes your flight and you don't accept another flight. You get 100% of the ticket, taxes and options, plus any fee of ours. You get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. Details are on [refunds when the airline cancels](https://satfares.com/refunds-when-the-airline-cancels/).

### Is it cheaper than booking with the airline directly?

Not necessarily. The price we show is the fare that our live search finds. We don't claim to match or beat the airline's own price. Compare the total before you book. What you gain is paying in crypto, with your balance held until the ticket exists.

SatFares: SatFares is a flight booking site paid only in crypto (USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The airline issues the ticket in the traveller's name, and your balance is charged only when the e-ticket number is issued.
