## 1. What data do we collect?

**For each traveller of a booking**, the data that the airline requires:

- first and last names, exactly as in the passport;
- date of birth and gender;
- for international trips, passport details: number, country of issue, nationality and expiry date, when the airline asks for them.

**For each booking**, an email address, which is required. We use it to send the e-ticket, schedule changes and cancellation messages, and we never publish or sell it.

**For your account**, your balance, your top-ups and your bookings. An email address is not required to sign up.

**For each top-up**, the transaction ID (TXID), the coin, the network and the amount. These details are public on the blockchain.

**When you visit the site**, our servers receive technical data such as your IP address, as every website does. We use it to keep the service secure.

## 2. What do we never collect?

We never ask for a passport scan, an ID photo or a selfie. We never ask for your bank card or bank account details, because you pay in crypto. We never ask for your account number, a passport scan or a selfie by email or chat.

If someone asks you for these by email or chat in our name, it is not us. Report it to support@satfares.com.

## 3. Who receives your data?

The airline only. Bookings are made on request: our team books each ticket with the airline. To do this, our team passes the traveller data to the airline, only to issue the ticket. The airline may pass it to border and security authorities when the law requires it. Examples are Secure Flight in the United States and advance passenger information (APIS) for international flights.

We share your data with no one else, except when the law obliges us to. We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

## 4. Why do we check names against sanctions lists?

We must not sell travel to people or places under sanctions. Before booking, we check traveller names against sanctions lists. We also refuse flights to, from or within sanctioned countries and areas, and tickets on sanctioned airlines. These countries and areas are Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Russia, Belarus, Syria, Crimea and the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine.

If a name matches a list, the booking is refused, and the case is reviewed as the law requires. See [sanctions and restrictions](https://satfares.com/sanctions-and-restrictions/).

## 5. How long do we keep your data?

We delete traveller data, such as passport details and dates of birth, 30 days after the trip. We keep the booking history for 2 years, without passport details or any identity document, for refunds and legal obligations. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Top-up transactions stay on the public blockchain, which nobody can erase.

## 6. Is paying in crypto private?

Private checkout, not anonymity: blockchain payments are public. Anyone can see a transaction between two addresses on the blockchain. What we don't ask for is your identity document or a selfie.

Your exchange or wallet provider has its own rules and may hold your identity. Read [will my bank see it](https://satfares.com/will-my-bank-see-it/) for what banks and exchanges can see.

## 7. What are your choices and rights?

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Write to support@satfares.com. We may need to keep some data to complete a booking, pay a refund or meet a legal obligation.

The data of a booking already issued is also held by the airline, under its own privacy policy.

## 8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows the version in force. Changes are listed in the [changelog](https://satfares.com/changelog/).
