What are Alternative Airlines' crypto fees?

As of October 12, 2026, Alternative Airlines publishes no crypto fee figure. Its crypto pages say "some payments may include network or processing fees", and these fees are not refunded. Its USDT page refunds USDT payments in USDT, "minus any applicable fees".

You also pay your own wallet's network fee, whoever the seller is. SatFares, a flight booking site paid only in crypto, shows the total before you pay: the price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. Our fee: none (no booking fee or payment fee is added). See pricing.

Is Alternative Airlines good for flights paid in crypto?

Yes, if you hold a less common coin. Alternative Airlines takes "100+" cryptocurrencies through four processors: xMoney, Crypto.com Pay, CoinGate and Binance Pay. It covers 600+ airlines. It also runs more than 20 pages, one per coin, and a list of crypto-friendly airlines.

Its limits for a careful payer:

  • Networks: its pages do not say which network each coin uses.
  • Fees: some network or processing fees apply and are not refundable.
  • Refunds: the rule depends on the page and the payment provider.

Which networks does Alternative Airlines accept?

Its pages do not say. They speak of "various blockchains" and list about 60 tickers, including USDC on Solana as a separate ticker. For USDT, the network is not named.

The network matters when you pay with a stablecoin. USDT exists on Tron, Ethereum and other chains, and each has its own fees and confirmation times. Sending on the wrong network can lose the funds.

At SatFares, each network is named with its confirmations: BTC 2, USDT on TRC-20 20, Ethereum and ERC-20 12, SOL 1, LTC 6. USDC is accepted on ERC-20 only.

How does Alternative Airlines refund a crypto payment?

It depends on the page you read. Its USDT page says a USDT payment is refunded in USDT, "minus any applicable fees". Its general crypto page says a refund "may follow the payment provider's process". The airline's fare rules decide whether a refund is due at all.

We found no published refund delay. Network or processing fees on some payments are not refundable.

At SatFares, after an airline cancellation, you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. This applies whatever coin you topped up with.

What does SatFares do differently from Alternative Airlines?

Four facts, with no opinion:

  1. Named networks: USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, USDC on ERC-20, plus BTC, ETH, SOL and LTC on their own chains.
  2. One refund rule for every coin: after an airline cancellation, USDT or USDC within 7 days, or balance credit if you choose it.
  3. Held, not charged: our team books the ticket on request, and your balance is charged only when the airline issues the e-ticket number. If it can't be issued in time, the amount is released.
  4. No ID upload, no selfie at checkout. Airline ID rules still apply.

The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. Our fee: none (no booking fee or payment fee is added).

When is Alternative Airlines the better choice?

Alternative Airlines fits better in these cases, per its own pages:

  • you want to pay with a coin we do not take, such as XRP or USDC on Solana;
  • you want to pay through Binance Pay, Crypto.com Pay or CoinGate;
  • you need a flight to or from the United Kingdom, which we have paused at launch. Check that Alternative Airlines sells it.

Check its fare rules and its refund page for your coin before you pay.
