October 12, 2026: bookings on request

From October 12, 2026, every booking is made on request. More airlines can be booked, and the market fare survey covers more airlines. Earlier entries below are kept as they were published.

Booking

  • At checkout, the total is held on your balance. Nothing is charged yet.
  • Our team then books the ticket with the airline and confirms the final total.
  • If the final total is higher, you accept it or the held amount is released.
  • If the ticket can't be issued in time, the held amount is released.
  • The e-ticket arrives in My trips. Your balance is charged when the airline issues the e-ticket number.
  • No issuing time is promised. Baggage and fare rules are confirmed with your booking.

Prices

  • The price shown in the search is the fare found by our live search for your dates.
  • Price rule: the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged.
  • Route pages still show market fares observed, not our selling price. See pricing.

Airlines

  • Low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, Wizz Air, AirAsia, IndiGo and Spirit can now be searched and booked on request.
  • Airlines that were not offered at launch, such as Air India, Aeroméxico, VietJet Air and Cebu Pacific, can be booked on request too.
  • Sanctioned airlines are still never sold. Flights to or from the United Kingdom are still paused, so Jet2 flights stay paused.
  • Ryanair still asks passengers booked through an agent to complete its own verification. See what data airlines require.

Open data

  • The crypto airfare index now counts every airline except sanctioned airlines. Before, it counted only the airlines offered at launch.
  • Itineraries with a stop in the United Kingdom or in a sanctioned country are still left out.
  • The fares are still market fares observed, not our selling price.

October 12, 2026: first version

  • Prepaid balance topped up in BTC, USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, USDC on ERC-20, ETH, SOL or LTC, from $25.
  • Held, not charged: the balance is charged only when the airline issues the e-ticket number. Booking statuses: Awaiting ticket, then Ticketed or Released.
  • No ID upload and no selfie at checkout. Airline ID rules still apply.

Not available in this version

  • Flights to or from the United Kingdom are paused. Flights sold by SatFares are not ATOL protected.
  • 13 airlines were not offered at launch, including Ryanair, Wizz Air, AirAsia and IndiGo. This changed on October 12, 2026.
  • Flights to, from or within sanctioned countries and areas, and tickets on sanctioned airlines, are never sold.
  • Monero (XMR) and Bitcoin Lightning are not accepted.

What is not published yet?

We publish a figure only once we have measured it. As of October 12, 2026, these figures are not published yet:

  • the typical time between booking and e-ticket;
  • network fees by coin and network, measured on our own test payments;
  • registration numbers of the company, which we will publish only once we hold them.

Each one will get a dated entry here when it is published.

October 12, 2026: route fares. The 22 detailed route pages were published: 10 at launch and 12 more the same day. They and the new crypto airfare index show the lowest one-way market fare observed in our first survey, with its date. That first survey counted only the airlines offered at launch. These are market fares, not our selling price.

How are changes recorded?

Each entry has a date and says what changed. A page keeps its date until one of its facts really changes. Data tables show the date of the last check on every row, so you can see what is fresh.

To report an error, write to [email protected] with the page and a source. When we correct a fact, the correction is dated.
