Where can I not pay in crypto once I arrive?

In some destinations, paying on the spot in crypto is banned or restricted, even though booking the flight with us is possible. We sell the ticket; paying on the spot is another matter. Our sources, checked on October 12, 2026, show these rules:

  • Dubai: since June 14, 2025, UAE central bank rules bar payments in crypto, except in licensed dirham payment tokens or registered foreign payment tokens.
  • Istanbul and Antalya: crypto may not be used to pay for goods or services. A Turkish central bank ban has applied since April 30, 2021.
  • Bali: crypto may be held but not used to pay, under Indonesia's Law 7/2011 on Currency. Bali announced sanctions against tourists paying in crypto in May 2023.
  • Bangkok and Phuket: paying shops in crypto is not allowed outside the TouristDigiPay sandbox, announced on August 18, 2025.
  • Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang: crypto is not a lawful means of payment in Vietnam (see flights from Vietnam).

For Mumbai, the rule is not verified yet.

Where is crypto easiest to spend after landing?

Where BTC Map lists the most places. Within 25 km of the centre, Miami leads our destinations with 142 places, ahead of Orlando with 107 and Bangkok with 95 (October 12, 2026).

The most popular cities for crypto travellers are not always the easiest. Dubai, their top destination in 2024 according to Travala and Binance Pay, has only 10 places listed. Flights to Miami and flights to Dubai give the details.

What does a destination page contain?

The city's airports, time zone and local currency, the BTC Map count and the local rule on paying in crypto, with its source. Detailed pages, such as Dubai or Miami, also list the routes on our list that serve the city and the passenger rules that apply.

Entry and visa rules are set by each country's authorities. We do not give visa advice: check them with official government channels before you book.

Which destinations are not available?

We never sell travel to, from or within Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Russia, Belarus, Syria, Crimea and the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine. Flights to and from the following countries are paused at launch: the United Kingdom. Selling flight-only tickets there needs ATOL arrangements we have not made. See sanctions and restrictions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fly to a city that has no page here?

Yes. Our live search covers destinations without a page here, except the places we cannot sell. A page is only a guide to a city; it is not needed to book. Each result shows the airline, the stops and the fare for all passengers. After checkout, our team books the ticket with the airline on request.

If a city bans crypto payments, can I still book a flight there?

Yes. A local ban concerns paying shops on the spot, and SatFares sells the airline ticket from your crypto balance. We do not give legal advice: check the rules of your own country and of the destination before you travel.

Do destination pages show prices?

Not yet. We publish only prices we have measured, with their date. The live search shows the fare for your dates. The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. If the final total confirmed by our team is higher, you accept it or have the amount released.

Can I book a one-way flight to a destination?

Yes. Leave the return date empty in the search form. The total shown covers every passenger, taxes included, and it is held on your balance until the airline issues the e-ticket number. You can book the return later, as a separate booking, from the same balance.

How is the BTC Map count measured?

We count places listed on BTC Map within 25 km of the city centre, excluding ATMs and exchange offices. We also note how many were verified since January 1, 2025. The counts are dated October 12, 2026. BTC Map is a community map, so a count can miss places or include places that have closed.

Who checks the local crypto rules?

We do, from public sources: central banks, laws and press reports. Each rule shows its source and the date of our check. A rule marked as not verified means we have not found a reliable source yet. Tell us if a rule has changed: write to [email protected].
