Quick answer

Which airlines accept crypto directly?

On October 12, 2026, we checked 36 airlines. Only 2 take crypto at their own checkout: Emirates (UAE residents only) and airBaltic (GREEN fares only). FlySafair reportedly does too. South African Airways stopped. Four others announced crypto in the past but don't list it today, and 28 list none. SatFares, a flight booking site paid only in crypto, can book each of these 36 airlines on request. Payment is held, not charged, until the e-ticket is issued.

Published by SatFares (TravelGoat LLC), which sells travel paid in crypto: we are not neutral. Each row is dated and links to its source; tell us when a status changes.

What do the statuses mean?

  • Yes: the airline takes crypto at its own checkout today, and we found a dated source for it.
  • Reported (not confirmed on the official website): the press says the airline takes crypto, but its own pages do not show it.
  • Announced in the past, not confirmed today: the airline or the press announced crypto payments in the past. The official payment page lists no crypto today, and no dated source says the option ended.
  • Stopped: a dated source says the airline no longer takes crypto.
  • No: the official payment page lists no cryptocurrency, or a dated source says there is no direct crypto payment.
  • Not checked yet: we have not read an official page. These airlines are left out of the table above.

The open data uses short codes in the column "crypto_direct": "active" (Yes), "reported", "unverified" (announced in the past, not confirmed today), "stopped", "none" (No) and "unknown" (not checked yet).

Does Emirates accept crypto?

Yes, but only for eligible UAE residents. Since July 28, 2026, Emirates offers Crypto.com Pay on emirates.com and in the Emirates app, for bookings priced and settled in UAE dirhams (AED). You need a Crypto.com account and approve the payment in the Crypto.com app.

Emirates' release does not say which coins can be used. A traveller who lives outside the UAE can't use this option. With SatFares you can pay an Emirates ticket in USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL or LTC from any country we serve. Details: Emirates and crypto.

Does airBaltic still accept Bitcoin?

Yes. On October 12, 2026, airBaltic's official payment page still listed "Bitcoin" through BitPay. It set one condition: "BitPay payments are available for GREEN / GREEN plus tickets only". The other options on that page are cards, PayPal and bank links.

Some lists still say airBaltic takes bitcoin on "Basic" fares with a 5-day limit. The official page names GREEN and GREEN plus only, and states no deadline. Details: airBaltic and bitcoin.

Can I pay Air Arabia with the AE Coin stablecoin?

Not confirmed today. On May 26, 2025, Air Arabia announced that customers could pick the AEC Wallet at checkout. They would pay in AE Coin, a stablecoin backed 1:1 by the UAE dirham. The wallet is run with Al Maryah Community Bank (Mbank), and users verify their identity in the app.

On October 12, 2026, the official payment-options page of Air Arabia listed cards, Apple Pay, Tabby, Klarna, local methods and cash, but not the AEC Wallet. We mark it "announced in the past, not confirmed today". Details: Air Arabia and AE Coin.

Does any US airline take crypto?

No. We read the official payment pages of American Airlines and United Airlines on October 12, 2026. They listed cards, wallets such as PayPal and Apple Pay, and travel credits. They listed no cryptocurrency. For Delta and Southwest, a third-party check of August 14, 2026 found no direct crypto payment.

The usual workaround is a gift card bought with crypto. As of October 12, 2026, Bitrefill sold Delta gift cards at face value and Southwest cards at $0.25 above face value. With SatFares, American, United, Delta and Southwest can be booked on request and paid from a crypto balance.

Which airlines stopped taking crypto?

Only South African Airways, according to a dated source. Four other airlines announced crypto in the past, but their official payment pages list none today. We found no dated end for them, so we mark them "announced in the past, not confirmed today".

  • South African Airways (stopped): bitcoin through Scan to Pay was removed from its website and app, as reported on March 15, 2026. Details.
  • LOT Polish Airlines: bitcoin through BitPay was announced in August 2015. LOT's payment page lists 16 methods today, and no crypto. Details.
  • Vueling: a BitPay partnership was announced in June 2022, and Daily Maverick says crypto checkout started in 2023. Its official payment page lists no crypto today. Details.
  • Peach Aviation: bitcoin was announced in 2017, according to third-party reports. Its payment page lists no crypto today. Details.
  • Air Arabia: AE Coin payments were announced on May 26, 2025. Its payment page did not list them on October 12, 2026. Details.

Where can I book a flight with crypto if the airline does not take it?

Through a seller that takes crypto and pays the airline for you. Our seller registry lists 12 active sites that sell flights for crypto: Travala, Travorio, Laters, Alternative Airlines, Cryptorefills, KryptoMate, Trip.com, Crypto.com Travel, Destinia, Sleap, BitPay Travel, and TravelSwap. Each row shows its own check date, with the coins, refund rules, fees and ID checks stated in the site's own terms. The full table is on the refund policy matrix and seller registry page. We sell airline tickets paid in crypto. Our offer is included there and marked.

For the full comparison, see crypto flight booking sites compared and the alternatives.

How did we check each airline?

We read the airline's own payment page first, in English, on October 12, 2026. When the page was blocked or empty, we used the airline's help center or ticketing terms. We searched each page for "crypto", "bitcoin", "stablecoin", "USDT" and "USDC".

  • Evidence "official website": the airline's own page or press release.
  • Evidence "press": a dated news article; the airline's site did not confirm it.
  • Evidence "third party": a dated list by another site.

Payment options differ by country, and airlines show only part of them on their pages. A "No" means that no crypto appears in the official list we read. We could not read the payment pages of LATAM, GOL and Copa Airlines, so they are "not checked yet" and left out.

Can I download and reuse the data?

Yes. The index is open data under the CC BY 4.0 licence. You can copy, share and adapt it, with credit to "SatFares Airline Crypto Acceptance Index" and a link to this page.

Each row keeps its own check date and source URL. Tell us at [email protected] when an airline changes its payment options.

Frequently asked questions

Which airlines accept bitcoin directly?

airBaltic is the clearest case: its official payment page lists bitcoin through BitPay, for GREEN and GREEN plus fares only (checked October 12, 2026). FlySafair is reported by the press to take bitcoin over Lightning in South Africa. Emirates takes Crypto.com Pay, but it does not name the coins. South African Airways stopped in March 2026. LOT announced bitcoin in 2015, but its payment page lists no crypto today.

Does any airline accept USDT?

Not at its own checkout, as far as we found on October 12, 2026. No official payment page in our index names USDT. Emirates does not say which coins Crypto.com Pay accepts, and Air Arabia's AE Coin is a dirham stablecoin. To pay a ticket in USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, you need a seller such as SatFares.

Does Qatar Airways accept crypto?

No. Its official payment-options page lists cards, Cash + Avios, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Click to Pay and local methods. It lists no cryptocurrency (checked October 12, 2026). SatFares sells Qatar Airways tickets paid in crypto. See Qatar Airways and crypto.

Does Turkish Airlines accept crypto?

No. The official payment FAQ of Turkish Airlines, updated on September 15, 2026, lists cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, bank transfers, gift cards and other methods. It lists no cryptocurrency. SatFares sells Turkish Airlines tickets paid in crypto. See Turkish Airlines and crypto.

Do Ryanair, Wizz Air or AirAsia accept crypto?

No. On October 12, 2026, the official payment pages of Ryanair and Wizz Air listed cards and bank payments, and no cryptocurrency. AirAsia has no direct crypto payment, according to a dated third-party source; its 2018 token project was never confirmed. All three can be booked on request with SatFares, paid from a crypto balance. See low-cost airlines and crypto.

Do Delta and Southwest accept crypto?

No. A third-party check published on August 14, 2026 found no direct crypto payment at Delta Air Lines or Southwest Airlines. Our index marks both "No" with that source (rows checked October 12, 2026). The usual workaround is an airline gift card bought with crypto. Both airlines can be booked on request with SatFares, paid from a crypto balance.

Do LATAM and GOL accept crypto?

Not checked yet. We could not read the official payment pages of LATAM and GOL. So we give them no status, and they are not in the table above. A row is added only after we read a dated official source. Both airlines can be booked on request with SatFares, paid from a crypto balance.

What airlines accept XRP?

None that we found. No airline in our index names XRP (checked October 12, 2026). airBaltic names bitcoin, through BitPay. FlySafair is reported to take bitcoin over Lightning. Emirates does not say which coins Crypto.com Pay accepts. SatFares does not accept XRP either: you can pay with BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC.

Why do some lists still say CheapAir accepts bitcoin?

Because they are out of date. CheapAir stopped selling tickets to the public in 2024, and on October 12, 2026 cheapair.com redirected to another company. Lists that rank it still repeat old facts. See does CheapAir still accept Bitcoin?. The same happens with Expedia, which stopped taking bitcoin in 2018.

How often is this index checked?

Every row shows the date of our last check, and the date in the title is the most recent one. All 36 rows were checked on October 12, 2026. When an airline adds or drops crypto, we update its row and keep the source. Write to [email protected] if you see a change.

Is SatFares neutral?

No. SatFares is run by TravelGoat LLC and sells airline tickets paid in crypto, so we have an interest. That is why every row links to its source, and why our own row in the seller registry is marked. Check the sources before you rely on a status.

If I pay a seller in crypto, who issues my ticket?

The airline. A seller such as SatFares books the ticket for you; with us, our team books it on request. The airline issues the e-ticket in the traveller's name. Your flight booking will be bound by the fare rules and Conditions of Carriage of the airline(s). The way you paid does not change the ticket.
