Which payment methods does Avianca accept?
Mostly cards. Avianca's help center, updated on October 10, 2026, says avianca.com takes credit and debit cards whatever the issuing country. Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club and American Express work in all countries, and Discover everywhere except Colombia. Apple Pay works in five countries, PSE in Colombia and ELO in Brazil.
Crypto is not on that list, and searches for "crypto" and "criptomonedas" in the help center gave no result.
Why may Avianca check my card at the airport?
Because of the purchase date. For tickets bought less than 48 hours before departure, Avianca may ask for payment verification at the airport. You then show the physical card and the card holder's ID, or you pay again with another card.
With SatFares, you pay us in crypto, and no card of yours is used. The 48-hour payment check is Avianca's own rule. If Avianca asks you for any check at the airport, contact [email protected] with your booking code. The traveller still shows the passport or ID used for the booking.
In which currency does Avianca charge?
It depends on where you buy. Purchases from Colombia, Argentina and Brazil are charged in local currency; listed European countries pay in euros, the UK in pounds, and other countries in US dollars.
On SatFares, the price is always shown in US dollars. A top-up in USDT or USDC keeps your balance in dollars until you book.
How do I book Avianca with crypto?
Avianca on SatFares: Available. Its hub is Bogotá (BOG); see flights from Colombia.
Top up from $25, choose the Avianca flight, and the total is held. Our team books the ticket on request and confirms the final total. The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. Your balance is charged when Avianca issues the e-ticket number. Pay in stablecoins; local tax and exchange rules still apply.
What if Avianca cancels my flight?
With SatFares, an airline cancellation means you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. Avianca also lists force majeure cases, medical incapacity or death, in which you may ask for a refund or a change at no extra cost. If you cancel for other reasons, the fare rules apply, and any refund goes to your balance. Your flight booking will be bound by the fare rules and Conditions of Carriage of the airline(s).
