Pay for flights with USDT on TRC-20

Last updated: · 6 min read

Quick answer

Can I pay for flights with USDT on TRC-20?

Yes. You can pay for flights with USDT on TRC-20 at SatFares, a flight booking site paid only in crypto. We accept USDT on TRC-20 (Tron) and on ERC-20 (Ethereum). Top up from $25: a TRC-20 payment is credited after 20 confirmations. Your balance is held, not charged, until the airline issues the e-ticket. Your wallet pays the Tron network fee in Energy, Bandwidth or TRX. We have not measured that fee yet.

What is the minimum to pay for a flight with USDT on TRC-20?

The minimum top-up is $25, the same for every coin. For a booking, the top-up must also cover the ticket total minus what is already on your balance. You choose the amount in US dollars, and the payment page shows the exact USDT amount to send.

Which network must I choose to send USDT on TRC-20?

Choose Tron (TRC-20) in your wallet or exchange, and nothing else. USDT exists on many networks: Tether lists Tron, Ethereum, Solana, TON, Aptos and others. SatFares accepts only Tron and Ethereum, and each one is a separate option at checkout.

A Tron address starts with T. On an exchange, the network may be called "TRC20" or "Tron". Do not pick BNB Smart Chain, often labelled BEP-20, even if its withdrawal fee looks lower. The coins would not reach Tron.

How many confirmations does a TRC-20 payment need?

Your balance is credited after 20 confirmations on the Tron network. Until then, the payment page shows the transaction as being checked, with the confirmations counted as they arrive. The rule is the same for every amount. If you close the tab, the pending top-up stays under Billing in your account.

Where is the USDT TRC-20 deposit address?

The address is shown only on the payment page, after you choose USDT and Tron (TRC-20). It is never printed on the pages of this site. Copy it from the payment page, or scan the QR code shown there. We never ask for your account number, a passport scan or a selfie by email or chat.

How much USDT do I send for a $500 ticket?

Send about 500 USDT, plus the network fee your wallet adds. The $500 is the price shown at checkout, which is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. Here is the calculation with an empty balance:

  1. Top up $500. It is above the $25 minimum and covers the ticket.
  2. Send the exact amount shown. It is about 500 USDT, with a few unique digits at the end that identify your payment.
  3. Pay the network fee on top. Your wallet pays it in Energy, Bandwidth or TRX, not in USDT.

If you send from an exchange, check the amount that will arrive. Some exchanges take their withdrawal fee from the amount you type. In that case, add the fee so that the full amount arrives.

Why does a TRC-20 transfer need TRX?

A USDT transfer on Tron calls a smart contract, so it uses Energy and Bandwidth. If your account has not staked enough of them, the network burns TRX from your account to cover the difference. The Tron documentation gives a current price of 0.0001 TRX per unit of Energy (checked October 12, 2026).

Keep some TRX in the wallet that sends the USDT. When you withdraw from an exchange, the exchange handles the Tron fee and charges its own withdrawal fee instead. We have not measured TRC-20 fees in US dollars yet: see the real cost of paying in crypto.

What happens if the airline cancels a flight paid in USDT TRC-20?

If the airline cancels, you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. If you cancel yourself, the fare rules of your ticket apply, and any refund is credited to your balance. If the ticket can't be issued in time, the held amount is released to your balance. Balance rule: Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. Amounts released when a booking can't be confirmed, or refunded after a cancellation you did not request, can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC; the rest of the balance is not refundable.

Do other crypto flight sites accept USDT on TRC-20?

Not all of them. We sell airline tickets paid in crypto. Our offer is included and marked. As of October 12, 2026, Laters accepts USDT through Crypto.com Pay on Cronos, ERC-20 and Polygon, but not on TRC-20, per its USDT page. Travala lists USDT on TRC-20, but refunds crypto payments as Travel Credits. Compare sellers: crypto flight booking sites compared.

USDT on TRC-20: common questions

Is USDT TRC-20 the same as USDT ERC-20?

No. It is the same coin, issued by Tether, on two different blockchains. TRC-20 runs on Tron and ERC-20 runs on Ethereum. They use different addresses, different fees and different confirmation counts: 20 for TRC-20 and 12 for ERC-20 at SatFares.

Can I send USDT on BEP-20 to the TRC-20 address?

No. USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) is not accepted. A BEP-20 transfer can't arrive at a Tron address, and funds sent on another network may be lost. Choose Tron (TRC-20) in your wallet, and copy the address of that exact network from the payment page.

Do I need TRX to send USDT on TRC-20?

Yes, from your own wallet, unless you have staked enough Energy and Bandwidth. The network burns TRX when they run out. From an exchange, you pay the exchange's withdrawal fee instead, and the exchange handles the Tron fee for you.

Does the coin I choose change the price of the ticket?

No. The price is the same whichever coin you use. The price shown is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. The only extra costs are outside SatFares: the Tron network fee and, if you send from an exchange, its withdrawal fee.

What if I sent the wrong amount of USDT?

Contact support with your transaction ID (TXID), the amount and the time you sent it. Your payment is matched by the exact amount shown on the payment page, so always send that amount. If your exchange takes its withdrawal fee from the amount you type, add the fee so that the full amount arrives.

Can I get my refund in USDT?

Yes, when the airline cancels: you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. If you cancel yourself, the fare rules apply and any refund is credited to your balance. Amounts released when a ticket can't be issued can also be withdrawn in USDT or USDC.

When is my balance charged after a USDT top-up?

Only when the airline issues the e-ticket number. The top-up credits your balance, and checkout holds the ticket total on it. Our team then books the ticket on request. If the ticket can't be issued in time, the full amount is released to your balance. Nothing extra is taken without your agreement.
