How do I pay for a flight abroad with USDT from Argentina?

SatFares, a flight booking site paid only in crypto, sells flights from Argentina, paid in USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL or LTC. Prices are in US dollars. As of October 2026, ARCA's RG 5617 applies a 30% tax perception to card spending abroad and to international tickets paid in pesos. Local tax and exchange rules still apply. The total is held, not charged, until the airline issues the e-ticket number.

Does the 30% card surcharge still apply in Argentina in 2026?

Yes. The 30% perception of ARCA Resolution 5617 still applied in 2026, even though the PAIS tax ended on December 23, 2024. RG 5617, published on December 19, 2024, set the perception at 30% on:

  • purchases of goods and services abroad paid by card;
  • services abroad bought through Argentine travel agencies;
  • passenger transport by land, air or water to destinations outside the country.

El Cronista confirmed on June 17, 2026 that purchases abroad remain subject to the regime. ARCA collected ARS 527,859 million of income tax perceptions between January and April 2026.

The perception is not a final tax. It is a payment on account of income tax or personal assets tax. If you pay neither tax, you can ask ARCA for a refund after the fiscal year. Pay in stablecoins; local tax and exchange rules still apply.

Can I pay my card statement in dollars instead?

Yes. Article 1 of RG 5617 says the perception applies only to the extent that the operations are paid in pesos. A dollar card balance paid with your own dollars is therefore outside it. Ask your bank about the conditions and any other local taxes.

Two lawful ways remain for a ticket priced in dollars: a card paid with your own dollars, or a crypto balance with SatFares. Compare the total cost of each, including the spread when you buy dollars or USDT.

Yes. Residents can hold and trade crypto, and the providers are registered. Law 27.739 brought virtual asset service providers (PSAV) under anti-money laundering rules. CNV General Resolution 1058 was published on March 14, 2025. It requires every PSAV that serves Argentina to register with the Comisión Nacional de Valores before it operates.

  • USDT: Tron (TRC-20, 20 confirmations) or Ethereum (ERC-20, 12 confirmations).
  • USDC: Ethereum (ERC-20) only.
  • Other coins: BTC (2 confirmations), ETH, SOL and LTC.

The minimum top-up is $25. Prices are in US dollars: the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged. Held, not charged

  1. Your balance is held at checkout

The exact total shown is held on your balance. Nothing is charged yet.

  2. We book the ticket for you

Bookings are made on request: our team books the ticket with the airline and confirms the final total. If it is higher than the amount held, you accept the new total or the amount is released.

  3. Charged only when the e-ticket number is issued

Your balance is charged when the airline issues the e-ticket number. If we can't get the ticket issued in time, the full amount is released to your balance.

If the total changes before the ticket is issued, you see the new total and choose: accept it, or have the amount released. Nothing extra is ever taken without your agreement.

What tax rules apply when I spend crypto in Argentina?

We have not verified the Argentine income tax treatment of spending crypto on a flight, so we do not state a rate. Gains on crypto can be taxable, and holdings can count for the personal assets tax. Paying in crypto may be a taxable event in your country. Keep the date, coin, network and amount of each top-up, and ask an Argentine accountant (contador).

What does the airline need for a flight from Ezeiza?

No ID upload, no selfie at checkout. Airline ID rules still apply. For each traveller: the names exactly as in the passport or national ID used to travel, the date of birth and the gender. Most international flights also need the passport details. We pass them to the airline only. Read what data airlines require.

Flights from Argentina paid in crypto: questions

Does the 30% dollar card perception still exist in 2026?

Yes. ARCA Resolution 5617 applies a 30% perception to card purchases abroad, services bought through Argentine travel agencies and international passenger transport. El Cronista confirmed on June 17, 2026 that the regime still applies. The PAIS tax, the other 30%, ended on December 23, 2024.

Is the 30% perception a final tax?

No. It is a payment on account of income tax or personal assets tax. Taxpayers deduct it in their annual return. People who pay neither tax can ask ARCA for a refund after the fiscal year, through the online procedure for perceptions.

Does SatFares charge the RG 5617 perception?

No. SatFares sells in US dollars, paid from a crypto balance, and no Argentine card or travel agency takes part in the payment. Local tax and exchange rules still apply to you, including how you bought your crypto and any gain when you spend it.

Can I pay with USDT on Tron from Argentina?

Yes. Send USDT on TRC-20 only to the TRC-20 address shown on the payment page. Funds sent on another network may be lost. The top-up is credited after 20 confirmations on Tron, then you book from your balance. The fare is shown in US dollars, so no conversion to pesos takes place on our side.

Yes. Residents can hold and trade crypto. Since CNV General Resolution 1058 of March 14, 2025, virtual asset service providers that serve Argentina must register with the CNV before they operate. Check that your exchange is registered before you buy USDT.

In our list, the routes to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Santiago use Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP). The routes to Miami, Madrid, Rome, New York and Florianópolis use Ezeiza (EZE). The live search shows the airport of each offer.

What if Aerolíneas Argentinas cancels my flight?

When the airline cancels your flight, whether it is Aerolíneas Argentinas or another carrier, you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. If you cancel yourself, the fare rules of your ticket apply and any refund is credited to your balance. Your flight booking is bound by the fare rules and Conditions of Carriage of the airline. Details: refunds when the airline cancels.
