What are the crypto rules in South Korea in 2026?

Crypto is legal and regulated through the platforms that serve Korean users. The Virtual Asset User Protection Act has been in force since July 2024. It sets rules for the protection of user assets, market surveillance and penalties for unfair trading. Since January 1, 2026, Korean crypto service providers collect customer tax data under the OECD Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). The first exchange of that data with other countries is planned for 2027 (Chakwon, April 10, 2026).

We have not verified the Korean rules on sending crypto from a Korean exchange to a wallet or a seller abroad. Check the withdrawal rules of your exchange before you top up.

Not yet on the gain, as of October 2026: the personal income tax on crypto gains has been deferred three times. It is planned from January 2027, at 22% on annual gains above 2.5 million won (Chakwon, April 10, 2026). Keep a record of each top-up: date, coin, network, amount and the won value on that day. The exact total shown is held on your balance. Nothing is charged yet.

  2. We book the ticket for you

Bookings are made on request: our team books the ticket with the airline and confirms the final total. If it is higher than the amount held, you accept the new total or the amount is released.

  3. Charged only when the e-ticket number is issued

Your balance is charged when the airline issues the e-ticket number. If we can't get the ticket issued in time, the full amount is released to your balance.

If the total changes before the ticket is issued, you see the new total and choose: accept it, or have the amount released. Nothing extra is ever taken without your agreement.
