What do naira card limits mean for a flight to Dubai?

Naira cards carry dollar limits for spending abroad, and they differ by bank and change often. On September 7, 2026, Nairametrics reported the quarterly limits for naira cards abroad. GTBank allowed $40,000, FirstBank up to $10,000 and Stanbic IBTC up to $8,000 on Mastercard debit cards. Zenith Bank allowed up to $50,000 a year.

One month earlier, Legit.ng reported Access Bank limits of $2,000 to $3,000 a month, depending on the card. Some airlines also check the card holder. Emirates, for example, says that in some countries the card holder must be a traveller or show the card at check-in.

A SatFares fare is in US dollars and paid from a balance topped up in crypto. Pay in stablecoins; local tax and exchange rules still apply. Nigerian rules also apply to how you buy, hold and spend crypto. Paying in crypto may be a taxable event in your country. Card rules by country are on the card friction index and on flights from Nigeria.

Why is Lagos to Dubai a crypto route?

Because both ends rank high for crypto travel. Nigeria ranks 3rd in the 2026 Chainalysis Global Crypto Adoption Index, published in September 2026. Dubai was the top destination of crypto travellers in 2024, according to Travala and Binance Pay.

Demand for flights abroad is large but under pressure. Nigerians spent $2.66 billion on foreign air travel in 2024, 14% less than the $3.09 billion of 2023. The figures come from Central Bank of Nigeria data, reported by Opinion Nigeria in June 2025. For a traveller who already holds USDT or USDC, the fare is in the same unit: SatFares prices are in US dollars.

Which airlines fly Lagos to Dubai?

In our latest market fare survey, the airlines observed on Lagos to Dubai included: Kenya Airways, Air Tanzania, Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir, flydubai, Turkish Airlines, EgyptAir, Qatar Airways. The key facts above give the date of the survey, the lowest market fare observed and the fewest stops observed. The survey counts every airline except sanctioned airlines, and leaves out stops in the United Kingdom or in a sanctioned country. These are market fares, not our selling price: the live price at checkout may differ.

On October 12, 2026, for a departure on November 11, 2026, every fare we observed had at least one stop. Connections included Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Kigali, Istanbul, Cairo and Doha. RwandAir, EgyptAir and Air Tanzania also had fares that day.

Our team can book these airlines on request. Schedules and fares change, so the live search shows the airlines, stops and fare for your dates. For each airline's own crypto policy, see Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines or airlines that accept crypto.

Which refund rules apply to a Lagos to Dubai ticket?

The airline's fare rules and conditions of carriage apply, plus any passenger rules of the country of departure. EU Regulation 261/2004 does not cover this flight, because it neither departs from nor lands in the EU. The US DOT refund rule does not cover it either: the flight does not touch the United States.

Our own policy fills the gap. If the airline cancels, you get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. If you cancel, the fare rules decide what comes back, and any refund is credited to your balance. Your flight booking will be bound by the fare rules and Conditions of Carriage of the airline(s). Read refunds when the airline cancels.

What documents do I need to fly Lagos to Dubai?

Each traveller needs a valid passport, and the airline needs its details before departure. Visa and entry rules for the United Arab Emirates are set by UAE authorities and depend on your nationality. Check them with official UAE government channels or the UAE embassy before you book. We do not give visa advice.

At checkout we ask for each traveller's names exactly as in the passport, date of birth, gender and passport details. We pass them only to the airline, to issue the ticket. No ID upload, no selfie at checkout. Airline ID rules still apply. The full list is on what data airlines require.

What should I know before landing in Dubai?

Dubai is 3 hours ahead of Lagos, and prices on the spot are in UAE dirhams. The city has two airports in our data, Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC). Check the arrival airport in each search result.

We sell the ticket; paying on the spot is another matter. Paying in crypto on the spot is restricted in the UAE. Since June 14, 2025, central bank rules allow only licensed dirham payment tokens and registered foreign payment tokens. BTC Map lists only 10 places within 25 km of the centre (October 12, 2026). Held, not charged

  1. Your balance is held at checkout

The exact total shown is held on your balance. Nothing is charged yet.

  2. We book the ticket for you

Bookings are made on request: our team books the ticket with the airline and confirms the final total. If it is higher than the amount held, you accept the new total or the amount is released.

  3. Charged only when the e-ticket number is issued

Your balance is charged when the airline issues the e-ticket number. If we can't get the ticket issued in time, the full amount is released to your balance.

If the total changes before the ticket is issued, you see the new total and choose: accept it, or have the amount released. Nothing extra is ever taken without your agreement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for a Lagos to Dubai ticket with USDT on TRC-20?

Yes. Top up your balance with USDT on Tron (TRC-20), then book from the balance. Send it only to the TRC-20 address shown on the payment page: funds sent on another network may be lost. The top-up is credited after 20 confirmations. USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) also works. See USDT on TRC-20.

Can I pay in naira?

No. SatFares accepts crypto only: Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC). There is no card, naira or bank transfer option. You top up a balance from $25, and the booking is paid from that balance. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires.

Whose name is on the e-ticket?

The traveller's name, exactly as in the passport. The airline issues the ticket in that name, not in the name of SatFares. Check the spelling twice before you pay, including middle names. Airlines rarely allow a name change, and a change can cost a fee.

What happens if the total changes after checkout?

You see the new total and decide. Our team confirms the final total when it books the ticket with the airline. If it is higher than the amount held, you accept it or the amount is released to your balance. Nothing extra is taken without your agreement. The price shown at search is the fare found live for all passengers, in US dollars, taxes included, with no fee added; the final total is confirmed before you are charged.

What if the airline cancels my Lagos to Dubai flight?

You get a refund in USDT or USDC within 7 days, or a balance credit, as you choose. If the e-ticket was never issued, nothing was charged: the held amount is released to your balance. You can ask to withdraw it in USDT or USDC. If you cancel yourself, the fare rules of the ticket apply, and any refund is credited to your balance.

Do you check my ID or ask for a selfie?

No. We do not ask for an ID upload or a selfie. The airline needs each traveller's names, date of birth, gender and passport details for an international flight, and we pass them to the airline only. Your passport is checked at the airport.

Do you sell hotels in Dubai too?

No. We only sell flights; each booking is a single travel service. A SatFares booking is not a travel package, so EU package travel protection does not apply. You arrange anything else in Dubai yourself. Your booking stays simple: one airline ticket, issued in the traveller's name, under the airline's own fare rules.
